Starting in 2009, ARCOPOL is a family of three ERDF funded projects framed in the Atlantic Area Transnational Programme that aim at improving the preparedness, response and mitigation capabilities of local and regional authorities to accidental coastal pollution. At present, ARCOPOL platform is contributing to this objective through the capitalisation of previous project’s outcomes and by developing a sustainable structure of public-private cooperation, the Atlantic Technological Platform for maritime spills’ preparedness and response. 

The UK partner for Arcopol is Public Health England, Centre for Radiation, chemical and Environmental Hazards Wales
