From Flood Fund to Community Resource
IS-2050 Management and Banking
The Y Morfa sports centre in Kinmel Bay was funded from donations after the Towyn floods of 1990 a time which in many respects started the lead up to this IS-2050 conference. Today Y Morfa is the centre of community engagement for all sectors of able bodied and disabled, young and old, locals and visitors, through the medium of sport in the community. The centre is established as a charitable company limited by guarantee (Charity No 1065641), business registration number 03227336 “Kinmel Bay and Towyn Sports and Recreation Association Ltd” where Town Mayor and County Councillor Bill Darwin is chairman and also a volunteer in the IS-2050 organising team.
